--writing the tender side of romance
I write romance, tender romance to be exact,
or as some readers call it, sweet
romance.
No, you won't find murders, shape-shifters,
hot love scenes, or sit-on-the-edge-of-your-chair
suspense. Instead, you'll find
real men and
women finding the healing power
of love as
they work through their everyday
problems.
Why do I write in this genre? I like a good
story that brings me to an aaah ending, or
leaves me with a tear in my eye or a smile
on my face. I like to feel good. There's
enough bad in this world so I like to think
that my books can bring a little joy to someone's
life.
I write for Avalon Books, a library publisher
of hard covers. Check out the article in
the article section concerning Avalon Books
and two other smaller presses.

What people are saying about A LIGHT IN THE
DARK:
Avalon author Kathy Carmichael: "Fran
McNabb's debut novel is a holiday gift to
those of us who believe in the healing power
of true love. Few can match her fresh take
on sweet romance."
Magnolia Magic Magazine Editor: "This
book proves that Tender Romance doesn't have
to be boring. A wonderful story for every
reader and for every season!"

My first novel from Avalon Publishing was
"A Light in the Dark" ~~ A story
about two people finding a second chance
at love.
Snow covered mountains, a secluded cabin,
and a crackling fire are all that English
professor Margaret Daniels thought she needed
to escape the chaos of another holiday season.
Little did she know that when she opened
her door for Paul Reynor to carry in a load
of firewood, her holiday would turn out to
be unlike any other. Paul's take-control
attitude and his down-home charm bring a
smile to her lips but add to the confusion
of her empty heart.
No longer content to live in her late husband's
memory, Margaret contemplates a prestigious
offer at a West Coast university, a move
that seemed so simple before meeting Paul.
Now with their growing closeness throughout
the snow-filled days, they both fight an
attraction that seems totally wrong.
Can love bridge the cultural gap that lies
between them?

Coming home to the Gulf Coast was supposed
to make life easier for Nikki Clark, but
on the first day of her new job, her world
is turned upside down when she comes face-to-face
with Russ Preston, the former husband of
her best friend from college.
Buying a charter boat helped Russ survive
the years that his little girl endured operations
from an accident that injured her and sent
his wife into the arms of the child’s doctor.
Now Nikki must work with him everyday as
she schedules fishing charters for a high-class
hotel.
Do they dare risk their friendship by going
down a road of love and will Russ’s daughter
allow them to even try?
What Magnolia Magic Magazine's editor said
about ONCE IN A HALF MOON:
"Fran McNabb's tender romances touch
your heart. This time, the setting is the
beautiful Gulf Coast!"
